Lawrence Lowy Associates is proud to provide reliable hot water to The Beekman Tower in Manhattan. In addition to 6+ Patterson-Kelley COMPACT water heaters located throughout the building, the team at Lawrence Lowy Associates also provided a Patterson-Kelley Control-Flo 500 which allowed for significant capture of latent thermal energy contained in the high temperature condensate returning from the steam system.
Rather than let this thermal energy go to waste by dumping down the drain, the Control-Flo 500 captures as much of this heat as possible by preheating the cold water entering the other Patterson-Kelley COMPACT water heaters. For example, when the cold water entering a water heater is preheated from 40°F to 80°F, this is a 40% reduction in the required steam consumption to produce the exact same load – amazing!
