Hudson Yards is served by a central cogeneration plant, which generates electricity while simultaneously distributing high temperature hydronic heat to the adjacent buildings within the complex. This hydronic heat is sent to several dozen Patterson-Kelley DURATION indirect water heaters to make domestic hot water for the various restaurants, kitchens, hotels and restrooms on an instantaneous basis, completely eliminating the need for large capacity storage tanks.
