Many of the buildings throughout the Columbia University campus are serviced by a high pressure, high temperature hydronic heating loop. In order to safely use this energy source to deliver domestic hot water to the cafeterias, kitchens and restrooms, Columbia University standardized on special high-pressure & high-temperature (250PSI & 400F rated) configurations of the Patterson-Kelley COMPACT which requires special materials of construction and trim devices.
